Lesley Sanford gets 'some help' from the Victoria SPCA but how much isn't revealed in the article. I wonder where Ms Sanford thinks the abandoned rabbits are coming from? They aren't put under cabbage leaves by the bunny fairy.

It's widely believed that abandoned rabbits are originally sold by pet stores which sell sexually intact baby bunnies. As Carmina Gooch of Rabbit Advocacy Group just revealed, the Victoria Petcetera is still selling intact rabbits.

The BC SPCA (of which the Victoria SPCA is a branch) has what appears to be a business relationship with Petcetera, a seller of sexually intact rabbits, some of which probably end up at the Victoria SPCA and some of which must surely end up on the grounds of the University of Victoria and the Victoria General Hospital, where they have to be 'eliminated'.

It's not as though this is a new problem to the SPCA in Victoria.
