Abused dogs love again, trust again, sing again...

I too think that is a message that certainly applies to rescued animals. I know first hand how a terribly abused dog gives itself over to you and does trust again.... loves again..smiles again...sings again...even if it is only with you. Sometimes the damage is so severe that these dogs can only trust one person again or one family. That was the case with my Nicky. He loved us unconditionally...but couldn't feel safe with anyone else. So it was my job to make him safe and keep him safe. That's what I did, he enriched our lives so much and when cancer took him from us we lost a beloved friend.
