"The SPCA came to the home in the summer due to complaints. They took away the one-year old lab, saying to the owners that they could rehome the younger dog, but they wouldn't take Ben because he was older so less likely they could rehome him...poor Ben. He was chained up for 7 years."

I'd call that cherry-picking, not true animal welfare.

It's such a blessed relief to have a place to read about rescue where there isn't any thought of killing the animal
